Membership Covenant

Having by God’s grace repented of our sin and placed our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ,
and having committed to follow Him, being baptized as a believer,
and standing in agreement with our doctrinal statement and structure,
we joyfully renew our covenant with one another.

We will follow Christ through regular Bible reading, prayer, and practice of spiritual disciplines,
making observance of the Lord’s Day a priority for worship, preaching, practice of the ordinances, and
being pastored by a Small Group. 1

We will represent Christ through the pursuit of holiness, regularly repenting and confessing our sins
to God and fellow believers, cultivating a godly marriage, and rearing our children and those in our
care in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. 2

We will live for Christ, dying to ourselves and our preferences, acting in love toward one another,
bearing one another’s burdens, rejoicing with those who rejoice, forgiving one another as God has
forgiven us, and refusing to gossip or slander. We commit to admonishing the unruly, encouraging the
fainthearted, helping the weak, and receiving the same with humility and graciousness. Additionally,
should the need arise, we agree to submit ourselves to church discipline for the hope of restoration
and purity of the body. 3

We will joyfully obey Christ by imparting the Word and our lives through discipleship and service to
the body, robust hospitality, regular giving of our first fruits, and evangelization of the lost. We
recognize elders’ God-given duty to keep watch over our souls and to both support their leadership
and seek to make their labor joyous. 4

We will honor Christ. Should we ever move from this place, we commit to depart in a Christian manner, meeting with an elder, reconciling and forgiving one other, refusing to speak ill of another, and
earnestly pursuing membership in another gospel preaching church as soon as possible. 5

Now to Him who is able to keep us from stumbling, and to make us stand in the presence of His glory
blameless with great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty,
dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen. 6
