εὐαγγέλιον (euangelion) “good news”

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “But the righteous man shall live by faith.”
Romans 1:16-17
GOD
There is only one true God, and He is the eternal, sovereign Creator of all things. He is perfect in holiness, righteousness, justice, goodness and truth. As our perfect Creator, He is worthy of our worship and obedience. His holiness does not allow Him to approve of or commit evil; therefore, He will justly punish sin.
(Genesis 1:1; Exodus 34:6-7; Revelation 4:11; James 1:13)
MAN
Man was created to glorify and enjoy God forever. However, man rebelled against God and sought his own glory, thereby earning the penalty of death. Every man is totally depraved by nature and choice, dead in his sin, hostile to God, and incapable of saving himself from the righteous wrath of God.
(Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:10-11,23; Ephesians 2:1-3)
JESUS CHRIST
Jesus Christ is the Son of God, both fully God and fully man. He lived the perfect life, died as an atonement for our sin and was raised to glory on the third day. God’s judgment demands death for sin, and His death is the only propitiation for the sin of man, satisfying the righteous wrath of God. God sent Jesus to die for us while we were still sinners and His resurrection guarantees redemption and eternal life.
(Ephesians 2:4-5, John 1:1, 14; 1 TimOTHY 2:5; 2 corinthians 5:21)
Response
Man must respond to the work of Jesus Christ. God commands for us to repent and believe in Jesus Christ for salvation, confessing Him as Savior and Lord. Moral reform and behavior change will not reconcile us to God. However, all those whom God calls will respond in faith and the fruit of true faith is obedience.
(Mark 1:15; Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-9)
